The Team

For more than 25 years, Tara D’Uva has dedicated her career to understanding how children learn — and how to support them when learning does not come easily.

A certified K–8 educator with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and certification in Supervision, Tara’s professional experience spans classroom teaching, curriculum design, academic life coaching, and early literacy specialization. She has taught grades K–7, coached K–3 and special education teachers, supported administrative teams, facilitated professional development workshops, and led parent education seminars and Professional Learning Communities.

Her work has consistently centered on one core belief: every child deserves to be understood accurately — and supported intentionally.

Specialization in Dyscalculia

Tara completed specialized certification as a Dyscalculia Specialist and Screener through a research-based program in London. Dyscalculia, a math learning disability affecting number sense and mathematical processing, remains significantly under-identified in the United States and lags decades behind dyslexia by approximately 50 years in research and recognition.

Through the Math Learning Profile Assessment, Tara provides structured screening designed to bring clarity to families navigating persistent math challenges. Her mission is to increase awareness, improve early identification, and equip educators and parents with meaningful next steps.

Leadership & Community Impact

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tara identified an immediate academic and social need within the community and founded The HOMEROOM, a program designed to support local K–7 students through the challenges of virtual learning. The program provided academic structure, enrichment, and social-emotional support during a time of uncertainty, helping students remain connected and engaged.

Inspired by its success, she later created THE PEACH PIT, 07760, a dedicated youth space in Rumson, NJ, designed to meet the evolving academic, social, and developmental needs of children and teens. Her work over the past decade has focused on creating environments where students feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Philosophy & Approach

Tara’s expertise lies in designing individualized learning plans that honor each student’s strengths while addressing specific areas of need. She places strong emphasis on:

• Executive function development
• Metacognitive strategy instruction
• Student autonomy and self-advocacy
• Collaborative partnerships with schools and families

She believes that accurate identification is the foundation of effective support — and that when children understand how they learn, confidence follows.

Community Involvement

A Rumson resident for over 18 years, Tara and her husband have raised their three children in the community they deeply value. She has served on the Rumson Board of Education, worked as Content Coordinator and Editor for Rumson Living Magazine, and volunteered extensively in local youth programs.

Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom and into the heart of the community she serves.

Bringing structured dyscalculia screening and awareness to families is the natural next step in her lifelong work: ensuring that no child’s learning difference goes misunderstood.

At the heart of Bridget’s work is a simple but powerful belief: all students can learn when both they and their teachers are equipped with the right tools, strategies, and support.

Her commitment to education is also deeply personal. As a parent of two children with different learning profiles — one who struggled academically and one who required support to stay challenged and engaged — she understands firsthand the importance of individualized learning. That experience continues to inform her advocacy for thoughtful, responsive instruction.

Bridget remains passionate about helping students thrive and empowering teachers to create classrooms where every learner can succeed.
